Laure

This name captures the ages-old style of Lauren without going all the way. Flaunting its groove in all five of its letters, Laure's flashy vowel combos and buttery consonants make it sound like a day at the beach in the tropics. It's just the snapshot we need for the last day of February - and it is one that will carry with us throughout the year. If you like this name, also try Laur, Laurely, and Laurelei.

Names ending in -by are always fun. They have a fresh and special kind of energy that makes you want to go out and skip on the sidewalk in the February sunshine. Adelby is no exception. Its lyrical beginning flows easily into the -by, like a playful gust of wind reminding you that it's still winter. Another bonus about this name - it rhymes with Shelby, Kelby, Selby, and Elby!

Happy International Polar Bear Day!

Trellys

This tranquil but bouncy name reminds you of trellises, which are often decorative frames that support fruit trees and vines in gardens. This makes you think of the time in midwinter that feels almost like spring, with the scent of fruit barely tangible in the cool air; the sun peeking out shyly between winter rain clouds.

Raffey

This name's bubbly enthusiasm just fits  today, the 25th of February. Its double F gives it a satisfying sense of completeness that is very unique in traditional nicknames, making it stand alone better than Rafi or Rafe. On its own, or as a nickname for Rafael or Raffael, Raffey will bring light and cheer to any situation.

Maeveline

We've included this one for the biggest fans of the -line ending in Jacqueline, Madeline, and Caroline. Maeveline may look complicated at first glance, but, like Jacqueline, it's simpler than it looks. You can think about it as Maeve combined with -line, or as the long Ma- sound added to a simple Evelyn. Therefore, it's a choose-your-own-adventure pronunciation: MAVE-lyn, may-EV-el-lyn, MAY-vel-line, or MAY-vel-lyn. Like all the other -line names (think Jackie, Maddie, and Carrie), one of Maeveline's strengths is that it boasts tons of nicknames, making it ideal for a middle name.

The L in this name, replacing the R of Harper, emphasizes the light but dignified elegance of the -per ending. While similar enough to Harper to be easy to pronounce, it's different enough to be draw admiration and carve out its own new trend. Its nickname, Hal, is also a great throwback name.

Macson

If you like Carson, Mason and Grayson, you may like this newly imagined name. Macson feels techy thanks to the Mac- beginning, which is often associated with the computer. In addition, its nickname, Macs, is a homophone of Max with a different spelling, making it super special but recognizable at the same time.

Pruelyn

The name Prue is derived from Prudence, meaning "judgment," or "wisdom." Add the beautiful suffix "lyn," which can mean "lake," and you get a delicately put-together full name that resembles many others, yet still holds a unique place for itself. If you like this name, you can also consider the variation Ruelyn, which takes out the first P to reveal an entirely different meaning.

Forge

This is a powerful name of building, design, and endless possibility. Like in a metal forge, flames whirl in a ferocious dance with hammers, grinding out the rhythm of creation and leaving a finished, gleaming metal piece behind them. Forge is a name that is as brilliant as the flames, as strong as the hammers, and as steady and proud as the final product.
